About the ski marathon
Engadin is the world’s largest free technique ski marathon, which will take place for the 56th time in 2026. It is one of Switzerland’s biggest mass sport events, attracting nearly 14,000 skiers from more than 65 countries every year.
The highly anticipated and festive marathon day is set for March 8. Participants can choose between two distances: 21 km and 42 km freestyle.
For those who prefer the classic style, the entire course is also equipped with a classic track, giving the skiers an opportunity to complete the marathon in their preferred style.

Marathon description
The Engadin marathon course is one of the easiest Worldloppet marathons in terms of it´s profile—the starting point is at a higher elevation from the sea level than the finish, and the terrain is mostly flat.
The race begins in Maloja, 1,820 meters above sea level. The first 12 km glide across two lakes, during that there’s plenty of space, meaning you can even ski with three of your friends side by side. These early kilometers provide breathtaking views of the valley and the snow-covered peaks of the Alps. Next, the course passes through the world-famous St. Moritz ski resort, followed by the biggest climb of the marathon.
One of the most unique sections of the route is the so-called “Pillow Hill”—a long but gentle downhill stretch that winds through a forest. To ensure safety, the trees along the course, both in the center and on the sides, are padded, which is where the name “Pillow Hill” comes from. The descent is long but not steep, allowing skiers to choose their own pace and enjoy the ride with confidence.
The second half of the course features a rolling terrain, winding up and down before finishing in the historic Alpine village of S-chanf (1,670 meters above sea level).

If you would like to arrive with us a day earlier than the main group to participate in the Night Marathon, please indicate this in the registration form. The additional package price is €210.
Mountain skiing
The Corviglia mountain in St. Moritz, is often referred to as the most beautiful ski resort in the world. Not only is it considered the birthplace of alpine skiing, but it also played a significant role in the development of winter tourism more than 150 years ago. Expect plenty of praise, which you’ll hear at every step! The lifts take you up to 3,057 meters, and you can choose a favoured route from 155 km of slopes at various difficulty levels.
You’ll definitely have time to explore the ski slopes on a few days. This trip is also very welcome for accompanying guests or supporters who may not want to participate in the marathon but wish to enjoy the beauty of the Alps and mountain skiing. The exact itinerary will be determined on-site, based on the preferences and wishes of the participants.
